DVD REVIEW:
One of the reasons
for me buying this DVD was because many people who have seen it
said it was anime but done Batman: The Animated Series style.
Also, many correlations to the Batman animated series (which I
really enjoyed) such as Roger Smith/Bruce Wayne, the Butler but
of course he has an android named Dorothy instead of Robin to
help him out... oh and also a big robot named O.
There are only 13
episodes total in this series and already spoiled for many is
that the ending so far is a cliffhanger with no conclusion at
this time. I'm guessing they will probably make a movie in
the near future. Anyway, the first DVD features the first
four episodes. The anime series is currently being shown
on the Cartoon Network ala Toonami but the uncut DVD edition
features a different opening credit.
Although, I didn't
watch the English dub completely, after watching the anime in
Japanese, I would go to certain parts to see how the English dub
would be and it was surprisingly good. So, dub fans should
be happy about this.
As for the DVD
special features, there is only a textless opening and an
interview (ala read the screen) that I wish was an actual
interview but beggars can't be choosers.
As for "The Big
O", it appears that this anime has a good size fan base.
Also, that there are toys being planned for release in the US.
We'll see...
So far with the
first four episodes, the anime appears interesting but we will
have to wait and see how things develop in the second volume.
