DVD REVIEW:
I remember when this
movie came out. It was so hyped and people either loved it or
hated it.
It's definitely a cerebral
anime that has to be watched a few times before you can understand
it. Also, the character designs were completely different from
what people were used to from the manga and the video game.
But what made me enjoy
this movie is I'm a big fan of Masamune Shirow's work and it was
great to see this DVD as one of the first anime DVD's to be released.
The DVD comes with long
extras such as a complete movie production report and the documentary
of the making of the movie.
At the time, this movie
was visually stunning and the movie was something that not many
anime fans could truly enjoy due to the movie's intellectual level
of storytelling.
For me, I enjoyed the
movie and it was great to see it available on DVD. Definitely
much better than the LD and VHS releases.
