SECRET(S): None that I know of
The second volume to
this popular series is on DVD and the final two episodes do NOT
disappoint. I would have to say that when you finish watching
the complete series, you can't help but feel content about how
the series ends.
The staff does a great
job is bringing a complex storyline together in four OAV episodes
and the final two episodes in volume 2 are simply amazing.
To watch the anime in
it's original Japanese format with English subtitles is nice but
to also watch and listen to the dubbed soundtrack in 5.1 Surround
Sound is simply awesome!
The third OAV focuses
on the history between Isamu, Myung and Guld and what is becoming
of the Super Nova test program.
The fourth OAV focuses
on the battle against Sharon Apple and the pilotless Ghost X-9
vs. Guld in the final fight to the death. This is the final
episode in the OAV series.
The DVD continues the
trend with beautiful visuals and great sound (along with great
voice acting). The special features again feature a musical
photo gallery and trailers.
The "Macross Plus"
OAV series is one of the best short OAV-series. I think
the only thing that can actually surpass this "Top Gun"
like anime series is the "Macross Plus" movie which
features the compilation of all four episodes into two hours trimmed
down, but with extra footage of the final battle of episode 4.
Overall, if you have
the first volume, the second volume is going to blow you away
because the storyline for final two OAV episodes continues to
get even better and yes, "It's that damn good!"
